Bishops are delighted to announce our Young Carers Tick Award!

To achieve this we needed to show how we would run our group and the input coming from the young carers. we worked together to create their new group, which the children played a big part , It was important that they took ownership of the group and made it their own in order for us to achieve this award .

They decided they would like to be called the BYC (Bishops Young Carers), they then came up with their own rules within the group and decided they would like to meet each week to come together share any worries or celebrations. I proposed we celebrated how amazing they are each half term, which they choose what that would look like.

This end of term celebration was a combination of the end of term and celebrating young carer’s day.  Our BYC have spent time baking cakes, which they will be selling after school on Thursday 8^th December. They decided with the money raised they would like to buy some board games for their BYC group. 

Please come along and support us, we will be outside the front office from around 3.15pm. This is also an opportunity to ask any questions you may have for our BYC, who will be happy to talk about their group.
