Acting on a concern
If you are concerned about the welfare or safety of a child you should immediately speak to the Senior Designated Lead Professional (SDLP) in school, Lorraine Ratcliffe, either in person or by phone. If she is unavailable please speak to the Deputy Designated Lead Professional; Shirley Conroy. All worries however small should be shared as they may contribute to a 'larger picture' of concern.
Should a child disclose information giving cause for concern within school, staff should record the child's words on CPOMs, or using a safeguarding log available from the staffroom. If the child's disclosure causes concern that they are at immediate risk of sexual/physical/emotional abuse or neglect, or if they have a visible non-accidental injury, the SDLP or Deputy must be spoken to immediately in person before the incident is recorded.
